On March 25, 2005 DIVETECH of Grand Cayman was presented with the PADI National Geographic Center Award.

PADI presented Divetech with the National Geographic Dive Center Award. This is a qualification program with recognition awarded to dive centers around the world that meet and fulfill all criteria for this prestigious award. From PADI, the Professional Association of Dive Instructors that issued the awards, "Congratulations! We are very happy to award Divetech, Ltd. the PADI National Geographic Dive Center Award. PADI recognizes your business as a progressive dive operation that offers the best customer service, education, equipment selection and dive experiences. Your commitment to advancing a premium-level of adventure and environmental awareness in your education programs is exciting and commendable. You are cultivating an elite class of people who understand the importance and the impact they have on the ocean realm and what they can do to preserve it for future generations. In essence, you are creating ambassadors for the underwater world."

The National Geographic Diver program is available to new students who wish to learn how to dive and also to advanced, experienced divers who want to increase their dive skills. The program promotes adventure, discovery, exploration and aquatic conservation. It's all about enjoyment of the vast underwater realm. Skills and techniques such as hovering, buoyancy control, observation, navigation, marine identification, charting, mapping and exploration are all wrapped up in the course. In the end, it comes down to relaxation and comfort, the ability to really see what the underwater colonies, cities and country-side have to offer, and how to enjoy and protect them for future generations to come.

As part of a growing commitment to fund the Society's initiatives, all of National Geographic's net proceeds from the PADI National Geographic Diver program will support exploration, conservation, research, and education. National Geographic supports a wide array of aquatic initiatives, including expeditions to reveal and share unique underwater environments around the globe. Other projects will include preservation of national marine sanctuaries and protection of endangered aquatic animals and plants.

Divetech maintains a high standard of staff, equipment, safety and more for diving. We love to branch out and embrace new technologies, new equipment, new concepts. This is one more addition that we can bring to Grand Cayman for support of the diving Industry and tourism to Cayman. So, if you are looking to learn how to dive, or expand your current diving skills, the National Geographic Diver program may be for you. Divetech operates daily boat charters and offer two great shore diving locations in West Bay, at Turtle Reef underneath the Cracked Conch Restaurant, and at Cobalt Coast Resort on the North wall. www.divetech.com divetech@candw.ky   toll free 888 946-5656 - ask for Divetech
